Change Icon for a Specific File Type on Windows
Icon is one of sign to knowing any file type. That icon will change suit to program that is used to open it. For example, if we have files with .zip extention then automatic it will be showed use winzip icon because we need winzip to open this file, or that will be showed winrar icon because zip file also can be opened use winrar.
If you are boring with common icons like that, proper you can change it with other icon that you have as well as you use the icons in the software bundle or you can create or download it.
Below the steps:
- Open Windows Explorer
- Click Tools> Folder Options
- Move to File Types tab
- Choose filetype that you wanna change the icon. For example we need to change the icon of files that have .txt extention

- Click Advanced button. On the box like below, Click Change Icon.

- You can choose one of icon from some of default icons brought by windows. If you need to change with other icons, you can browse your icons by clicking browse button.

- If you have no interesting icons collection yet, you can find on internet with free.
